6 Fourth of July Hairstyles to Rock

There’s something so carefree about the summertime — that is, unless we’re talking about our hair. The increase in humidity, UV rays and sweat can really wreak havoc on it. However, if you want an effortless style to tame your strands, these Fourth of July hairstyles are perfect for summer’s biggest holiday.

Whether you’re up at the lake with the wind in your hair or grilling in the backyard this Fourth of July, PONY-O makes it easy to put hair up and keep it up.

PONY-O is a revolutionary hair accessory that gently, yet firmly holds hair in a ponytail all day long. It’s made with a silicone-coated malleable metal, and it bends to hold your hair in place. Because it doesn’t squeeze hair like a regular elastic hair tie, it’s super comfortable, and there is absolutely no creasing of the hair. You can wear it up while you lay by the pool, and take it out before heading to dinner, and you won’t have that dreadful ponytail line.

Best of all, PONY-O is non-damaging. This is especially important in the summer when your scalp is susceptible to sunburn and the chlorine from the pool dries out your locks.

Of course, PONY-O was made to make better, fuller-looking ponytails that can withstand it all. But, you can use PONY-O to make some pretty unique and festive hairstyles as well. Get ready to impress your friends, family, and neighbors with these looks this Fourth of July.

1. Red, White, and Blue Butterfly Flip Braid

This style may look the most intricate on this list, but it’s actually easy to do. You’ll need three PONY-Os to start, preferably in red, white, and blue. Essentially, a butterfly flip braid looks like you spent hours twisting and braiding your hair, but you’re really just flipping it.

Here’s how it works: Start by brushing the top third of your hair into a ponytail using PONY-O, but secure it about an inch from your head. Then, make a hole in your hair between the PONY-O and your head, and hold it open with your fingers. Then, use your pointers to flip the PONY-O down through the hole. When you hold the hole open with your fingers, there’s no snagging and no way for the PONY-O to get caught in your hair. You’ll repeat this step two more times with your remaining hair.

The Butterfly Flip is like a braid, but better. It’s actually a much fuller-looking braid.

2. Fourth of July Low Ponytail

Anyone can put their hair in a ponytail, but this accessorized version takes it up a notch. Brush your hair into a low ponytail and secure it with a PONY-O. Then, about two inches from the base of your ponytail, secure another PONY-O in another color. Repeat this step with at least one more PONY-O (it will depend on the length of your hair) in red, white, or blue.

3. Fourth of July Pigtail Braids

Frizz won’t stand a chance against pigtail braids! Divide hair into two parts, French braid each section, and secure each of the ends with a red or blue PONY-O.

If braids are your thing, you could also make this a single French braid down the center of your head, or just braid back your bangs before brushing your hair up into a high ponytail.

4. Blingin’ High Up Ponytail

Why hide your PONY-O when you could accessorize it? BLING RINGZ are made to wrap around your PONY-O and they come in either a pearl or metallic design. They’re perfect for giving a simple updo a little more flair.

For this one, brush your hair into a ponytail (or a half-up, half-down version) and use PONY-O to secure it. Then, simply clip the BLING RINGZ onto your PONY-O and you’re ready to shine.

5. High Hair-Wrapped Ponytail

If you prefer to keep your PONY-O a secret, try this chic style where you cover it with your own hair. Once you’re done putting your hair up, take a small section underneath your ponytail and wrap it around the PONY-O. When you can no longer wrap the hair, tuck the ends into the PONY-O to secure it. You can also secure the ends with one of our PINZ.

6. Half-Up Bubble Bun

Baby, you’re a firework! And like you, this bubble bun style will stand out at the party. First, brush the top half of your hair into a ponytail to create a half-up, half-down ‘do. But, as you feed your hair through the PONY-O, stop about halfway, and bend it into place like you would with a regular ponytail. You can give your bubble bun a gentle tug to give it a little more volume.

See? Doing your hair this Fourth of July can be as effortless as saying yes to that beach trip or yes to a second hot dog. All you need is PONY-O, preferably in red, white, and blue.
